Chalk Walk Idea Brightens Up Garden Paths, Pavements and Driveways to Bring a Smile to Passers-by – #OZ CHALK WALK
In these difficult times we all need something to brighten our lives and cheer us up.
Aussie Sarah Elphick (who is also my wife) is encouraging people to decorate their garden paths, pavements and driveways with creative chalk drawings.
Community Works Together to Brighten Up Homes and Gardens
She wants the community across Australia to have fun and work together to bring a smile to passers-by, dog walkers and people taking their daily exercise, whilst of course practicing safe social distancing.
Sarah had the idea when thinking about a safer alternative to an Easter Egg Hunt. She is encouraging people to draw a picture of their favourite animal, flower, write an inspirational quote, draw some easter eggs for kids to find on an Easter egg hunt or anything else artistic, beautiful or just fun to do, no great talent required.
Having done that participants are encouraged to join “The Great Aussie Chalk Walk” Facebook Group.
Member are then encouraged to post their photos in the group using #ozchalkwalk putting their postcode and state for people to come and find the artwork.
It is hoped that the group will be filled with wonderful photos of chalk drawings from all over Australia. Here is an example from the first post in the group
As a community we all come together in difficult times to encourage and support each other and this initiative is just a small way in which it can be done. Lets pull together in these days, stay safe and help each other.
If you would like to join the Facebook Group and participate the link is HERE
It will be OK
