Meet The Puppy Who Gives Love To Health Workers During The Pandemic

This coronavirus pandemic is affecting people all over the world. Perhaps the most affected of us all are the hardworking health workers who are on the frontlines of this ongoing battle for survival. Doctors, nurses, hospital aides, and other health workers have been working tirelessly since the start of the year. Good thing, some incredible souls give love and comfort during these trying times.

An eleven-month-old Labrador puppy gives all her love for the medical staff of Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. A viral photo of the puppy called Wynn comforting a doctor wearing a face shield and face mask touched the hearts of many people online.

Dr. Ryan just finished some rounds at the hospital, feeling exhausted and emotionally drained. The whole coronavirus situation caused some anxiety to her and the other health workers. Wynn, the puppy, who they were training to become a therapy dog, walked by and saw the tired doctor. Surprisingly, Wynn went up to Dr. Ryan, as if offering herself for cuddles and comfort.

A social worker in charge of Wynn took a photo of the touching sight – Dr. Ryan sat on the floor, cuddling Wynn, who proudly showed off her  Canine Companions For Independence (CCI) vest. According to experts, dogs’ ability to empathize with humans is pretty normal. In fact, for thousands of years, dogs learned reading the mood of their human companions.

Dr. Ryan saw how Wynn consoles the other health workers in Rose Medical Center. The whole hospital adores her – staff and patients alike. According to Dr. Ryan, the change in their moods are apparent after playing and cuddling with the cute puppy.

Now, Wynn, who just turned a year old, went back to a CCI facility to start with her training as an official service dog. When she’s not in training, Wynn walks around the hospital as a welcome sight to health workers who need a break from their tiring shifts. Even in her simple way, Wynn is proof that a little love goes a long way during this pandemic.
