Countless dogs have joined the military and have served magnificently. Their bravery and heroic skills come out so naturally in this field. They happily save lives and protect the country.
After serving in Afghanistan, five-year-old canine Eddie is now going on retirement. For this mighty mutt, it’s not just an ordinary retirement, but a celebration to honor a true hero.
At the McDill Airforce base, fellow military men acknowledged how Eddie saved so many lives. Among those who lauded Eddie, was Sgt. Shannon Hutto. Hutto narrated how Eddie detected various bombs, which saved many lives, including his. He will be forever grateful for Eddie’s service and promised to tell his tale to the world.
Eddie detected aa bomb just six inches away from his fellow men’s boots and saved the team from a massacre. He also saved an entire afghan village from another explosive. The pooch will always be missed and loved by his fellow military team, especially with all the gratitude they have for his heroic service.
During Eddie’s training, the brave pooch suffered from heatstroke, thus causing his retirement. The dog had to retire because of health issues, but his colleagues needed to let the world know about the magnificent Eddie.
During the celebration, the good dog was awarded a prize fit for a hero, and a delicious cake, a non-vet approved treat that is a first for him. Eddie excitedly devoured his cake to show his appreciation for everyone’s tribute.
Eddie may not be able to give a speech at his own retirement party, but he loved seeing his friends again. This dog served years rescuing and serving his country, and now it’s time for Eddie to enjoy life with more playtimes and more treats.
