In St. Petersburg, Florida, a pet rescue organization is focused on saving senior and critically ill dogs. The owner, Jamie Bunny McKnight, looks for the dogs that have no other options. She takes in severely abused, neglected dogs, as well as senior dogs and very ill dogs. Her shelter is making a big difference in the dog world.

Jamie runs her shelter entirely on her own. She doesn’t receive any grants or funding. Jamie relies solely on donations, and she holds down two full-time jobs to support her shelter. Many of her rescue dogs come from kill shelters or the streets. This is something very special and deserves a lot of support

Jamie chose the color pink to represent her shelter. She also uses a lot of sparkles to help make her center a bright and happy place for the dogs. Jamie named her shelter Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue, and she cares for all the dogs in her home. She said foster homes are out of the question since her dogs require a high level of care. Jamie’s home is always bursting with dogs everywhere, and she loves it!

Jamie’s dogs have seen a lot of bad times. Some are disabled, and some are hospice patients. She shows these dogs a lot of love and spoils them with trips to Target for pizza and shopping. Many of her dogs die in her care. She’s happy she can provide these dogs with happy days filled with love.

Some of the dogs Jamie cares for are adopted. While they are awaiting adoption, Jamie’s rescue dogs sleep in bed with her and even accompany her to her other jobs.

Vetinary Care Provided

To help out with the steep medical bills, Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue has teamed up with Patridge Animal Hospital. The hospital provides all the medical services for the dogs.

Jamie said she will always fight for the underdog. Her rescue center saves the dogs that no one else is willing to save. Most rescues turn down the dogs that Jamie takes in because the cost is too much for them to handle.
